IPC ACADEMY CAMPUS 2016

The IPC Academy has a focused team continually enhancing programmes to ensure they remain world leading and specific to the Paralympic family's needs. The IPC Academy Campus is an example of ensuring that those throughout the Paralympic Movement are provided exceptional education opportunities during the world's third largest event.

The IPC Academy is a partnership between the IPC and the World Academy of Sport and is the education division of the IPC. The Academy brings individuals together to improve educational standards of sport throughout the Paralympic Movement and ensures that executives, administrators and officials have an educational centre that is sensitive to their needs and in touch with trends and developments, providing world class programmes.

The Programme finishes with the IPC Academy Campus Cocktail Reception for all Campus participants.

The Observers’ Programme looks at the planning and operations behind hosting a world-class sporting event.

Inclusion Summit

The Inclusion Summit focuses on how the Paralympic Games act as a catalyst for inclusion and accessibility and policies that lead to such societal outcomes.

The Games Experience Programme looks at the strategy behind organizational factors that are directly related to the Games, such as marketing, key cost drivers for Games delivery and legacy.

From the Bahrain Economic Development Board, London 2012

“As part of the joint program of the Campus we had access to some events at the Paralympic Games. Before attending the events I felt a little bit apprehensive because I had never watched competitive disability sport in action. I wasn’t sure whether sympathy, pride or awe should be the emotions I felt, so I was a bit hesitant before immersing myself in attending the sprint finals at the Olympic Stadium. With the energy flowing through the stadium I started to realize, this was not a celebration about disability; on the contrary, it was a celebration about human ability and athleticism. The experience changed me completely.”
